Human enterprises often need reports, analyses, white papers, and other documents. Writing is reasoning, a way to make meaning. 

Among my main works:

• On Censorship: A Public Librarian Examines Cancel Culture in the US (Fulcrum Publishing, 2023).

• The New Inquisition: Understanding and Managing Intellectual Freedom Challenges (Libraries Unlimited, 2007). 

• Articles on a host of topics in American Libraries, Library Journal, and a regular "Perspectives" feature of Public Libraries (the magazine of the Public Library Association).

• A more personal blog at myliblog (generally about libraries, and technology). One of my most popular postings there concerned a defense of the children's book "Uncle Bobby's Wedding." 

• From 1990 to 2012 I wrote a weekly newspaper column about all kinds of library-related issues (and more). You can find it at LaRue's Views.
